After working for years in wax and resin, for the last year I've been working extensively on digital sculptures which are then 'materialized' with the technique called 'rapid manufacturing'. For me, the 3D-printing technique gives me a limitless freedom in almost instantly composing the images I have in my mind.
On this site you'll find some 3D printed models (sizes are roughly between 15 and 35 centimeters in height) and some computer generated models, which are in the process of being 'materialised'. Some models are finished, but some models are 'work in progress'.
Printed models may differ from the computer generated models due to technical construction in the translation from bit to matter.
All the models in my portfolio are one-offs. However, models can be part of a series in which the same figure(s) is/are 'recycled', but placed in a different setting/pose/expression and or accompanying props, thus so creating an individual piece of art every time. Due to the fact that these are computer generated models, this way of working opens up a whole world of artistic and conceptual possibilities, and makes the technique used very different than any other art-discipline.
